A “crazy” Villager was arrested after allegedly using an umbrella to terrorize a man.
The man went to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office building at Pinellas Plaza on Tuesday morning to report the actions of 75-year-old Delores Kelley Dennis of the Village of Virginia Trace.
The man said that Dennis “was crazy” and had been hitting him with an umbrella over the previous four days. He said there had been a “recent escalation” in the violence aimed at him. The redacted arrest report did not reveal their relationship, but described it as “domestic.”
The man said Dennis would hit him with the pointed end of the umbrella and he was afraid it would stab him, the report said. He said she had struck him on the left ear. He said he had used his arms to block the blows and he had suffered a bruise on his forearm. He had recorded the violence on his phone and iPad and showed the recordings to deputies…
