State appeals ‘Alligator Alcatraz’ order, RNC picks a Floridian to lead, and Cracker Barrel cooks up controversy

Good evening, Central Florida. We’re wrapping up the day for you with the most important stories you need to know and your weather outlook.

Your Weather Planner

A stalled front on the Georgia border will keep deep atmospheric moisture streaming over the peninsula this weekend, with locally heavy rainfall possible. We’ll start tomorrow and Sunday dry, but watch scattered showers and storms develop across the western portions of the state by mid-morning, moving along the I-4 corridor around lunch and into the early afternoon, then east and off shore by 5 or 6 pm. Disruptive to outdoor plans but not a washout.

Highs this weekend will be kept back a touch thanks to rainfall and clouds, but breaks in the clouds and any sun you see will help boost highs up on either side of 90 degrees on both days.
