A driver is spending 10 days in jail after a traffic stop earlier this year in The Villages.
Randy Barnes, 51, of Leesburg, was sentenced this past week in Sumter County Court to 10 days in jail after pleading no contest to a charge of driving while license suspended. He was given credit for three days already served.
Barnes was driving a 2005 Honda SUV on May 30 on Morse Boulevard at Warm Springs Avenue when he was pulled over by a Wildwood police officer. During the traffic stop, the officer learned that Barnes’ license had been permanently revoked. He had been convicted of driving while license suspended in 2005 and 2006 in Lake County and in 2023 in Citrus County. During the traffic stop, Barnes admitted that he knew his license was suspended…
