Baltimore man sentenced for assaulting correctional officers at federal Florida facility

OCALA, Florida — A 25-year-old Baltimore man has been sentenced to two years in federal prison for assaulting correctional officers, according to a press release from the United States Attorney’s Office.

The sentence for Davonta McCrorey will run consecutively to an eight-year term he is already serving for another offense.

McCrorey pleaded guilty on April 15, 2025. Court records indicate that in March 2024, while an inmate at the Coleman Federal Correctional Complex in Sumter County, McCrorey charged out of his cell and struck two federal correctional officers in the face multiple times, causing injuries…
