Villages Entertainment employee jailed after speeding near country club

An employee of The Villages Entertainment Department was jailed after he was caught speeding near a country club.

Frankie Wayne Bowlin, 72, of Belleview, was driving a silver 2018 Buick passenger car at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday on Buena Vista Boulevard near the Palmer Legends Country Club when he was caught on radar traveling at 53 miles per hour in a 35 mph zone, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

During a traffic stop at the country club, Bowlin, who was wearing his Villages Entertainment shirt, was asked for his driver’s license. The Texas native handed the deputy a Florida identification card and admitted he lost his license after a drunk driving arrest in 2023…
