Dead Villager’s home falls into neglect spurring concerns of neighbors

Waiving a standard seven-day period for compliance, Community Development District 7 supervisors Thursday ordered an immediate $250 fine and maintenance by The Villages to begin Friday for a home at 1575 Hollyberry Place in the Village of Duval.

About a dozen neighbors attended the meeting to show their concern about the neglected property.

Shannon Boyd of Community Standard said a complaint was received May 12 and an inspection found dead grass, weeds and mold on a rear patio. A Sept. 2 inspection found the home remained out of compliance.

She said the owner, Kenneth C. Robinson, apparently is deceased and attempts to reach another contact were unsuccessful. The property is going through probate.

Neighbors said the homeowner next-door is trying to sell their home, but will not get a fair price due to the poor condition of the Robinson home…
