A Leesburg man was arrested for battery after allegedly punching several staff members at LifeStream.
An officer responded to LifeStream, located at 2020 Tally Rd., around 3 p.m. Saturday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. An aggressive man, later identified as 49-year-old Timothy Francis Byrne, was inside the Access Center battering staff members and trying to fight patients.
Upon arrival, the officer saw multiple staff members in a panicked state outside the facility. They stated Byrne, who was known from previous law enforcement encounters, was inside hitting employees. The officer went inside and saw him going up to staff members with his fists clenched. He was then ordered to sit down and detained, the report said.
One of the staff members advised that they initiated a “Dr. Strong” code, which was used to subdue hostile subjects. As the staff intervened, Byrne balled up his fists and tried to hit her. A struggle ensued, during which he punched her in the face and another staff member in the arm. She did not sustain visible injuries, the report said…
