(352 Today) On September 11, communities across Ocala and Marion County will come together to remember the lives lost during the 2001 terrorist attacks and to honor the courage of first responders. 1. Wind-FM & K‑Country Join Feeding the Fearless
Local radio favorites Wind‑FM and K‑Country are partnering with Mojos Grill & Catering Co. to deliver meals to Marion County’s first responders on Sept. 11. Volunteers from the Mr. Bob Morning Show (K‑Country) and Hunter & Dupree Morning Show (Wind‑FM) will personally hand off meals to fire, EMS, and law enforcement teams. The Professional Fire Fighters of Marion County (PFFMC) are partnering with local poker room OcalaBets to raise funds for Embers of Hope, a new summer camp designed for children recovering from burn injuries. A public poker tournament will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 11, beginning at 11 a.m., with proceeds supporting the camp’s mission to provide healing, connection, and fun in a safe environment. The Ocala Citizen’s Firefighter’s Association (O.C.F.F.A.) will host its annual 9/11 Memorial Ceremony on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. at 505 Lovers Lane in Ocala. This solemn event honors those lost in the 2001 terrorist attacks and pays tribute to first responders locally and across the nation. The public is invited to attend and participate in an evening of remembrance and reflection.
