A father-daughter duo will appear in court at the end of the month to answer charges that they have been operating a business with illegal gambling machines.
Undercover detectives on Sept. 4 went into Smokey’s Hideaway, located at 11240 Northern Ave., Leesburg, operated by 42-year-old Christopher Wilburth and 20-year-old Haile’e Wilburth, according to a case report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Once inside, several of the detectives started playing on “fish game” machines. One of them approached the cashier counter and spoke to Haile’e, the only employee present.
