A Lady Lake woman has been named as the driver with pills from a drug bust traffic stop using a K-9.
A deputy spotted 52-year-old Kimberly Lynn Waddell driving a white F-250 on Center Street in Leesburg around 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5 according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. The windows were down, and he could see she was not wearing a seatbelt, leading to a traffic stop on Montclair Road and Thomas Avenue.
She advised that the seatbelt was broken, which was why she was not wearing it. She denied consent for the deputy to search the vehicle, and he wrote a warning while waiting for a K-9 unit to arrive. The K-9 ultimately alerted to the odor of narcotics, and the vehicle was searched, the report said.
The deputy found Waddell’s wallet sitting between the driver’s seat and the center seat. Inside was a clear baggie with methamphetamine and a small oxycodone pill, the report said…
