A Sumterville man will appear in court for trespassing after getting upset with a waitress when his card declined at Denny’s.
Officers responded to Denny’s, located at 2480 Citrus Blvd., regarding a suspicious person around 3 a.m. Thursday, according to a case report from the Leesburg Police Department. Dispatch advised that 46-year-old Jerrell Leonard Luther was harassing employees, and they wanted him trespassed.
When found by law enforcement, Luther stated he was inside the restaurant trying to get some food. His card kept declining, and he told staff members that he knew he had money on it. He did not know why the transaction could not be finished. Luther got upset at a waitress who then called authorities to have him trespassed, the report said.
He also admitted he had been trespassed from Denny’s before. Dispatch confirmed he had indeed been trespassed on March 6, 2024, the report said…
