ICE puts hold on Guatemalan arrested in wee hours at Lake Sumter Landing

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has placed a hold on a Guatemalan arrested in the wee hours at Lake Sumter Landing.

Carlos Anibal Perez Orozco, 32, of Belleview, was driving a red 2019 Acura passenger car at 12:10 a.m. Sunday through an open access parking lot at Lake Sumter Landing when a deputy ran the vehicle’s license plate and discovered the vehicle’s registered owner had a revoked license, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

During a traffic stop, Perez Orozco presented the deputy with a generic international driver’s license card, a Guatemalan identification card and a passport which had no permit or validations inside. A records check revealed that Perez Orozco had been convicted of driving under the influence in Marion County in 2020…
