An Ocala man accused of stealing beer from a local Circle K is facing an additional felony charge after he allegedly returned to the store and struck a police officer while resisting arrest.
On Tuesday, September 9, at around 2:15 p.m., a male suspect – later identified by police as 39-year-old James Lewis Hauffa – allegedly entered the Circle K located at 1986 SW 27th Avenue in Ocala. Once inside, Hauffa allegedly grabbed a four-pack of beer and walked out of the store without attempting to pay for the items, according to the arrest report.
