A Leesburg woman was arrested for driving with a revoked license after being stopped with an expired registration.
An officer saw 60-year-old Annetta Jo Canales drive over the stop bar at the intersection of U.S. Hwy. 27/441 and North Dixie Avenue at 11:40 p.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Fruitland Park Police Department. She made a right turn at the red light, during which the officer checked the plate and learned it expired on Sept. 28, 2023.
Canales turned again onto Shiloh Street and began to drift into oncoming traffic at the cross street with Century Avenue. At that point, the officer initiated a traffic stop and looked into her driving status. She had eight offenses dating from May 2014 through March 2023 for refusal to submit to testing, DUI, failures to pay financial obligations and habitual offender, the report said…
