What started as an idea among friends in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma has grown into a community gathering spot known for its food, music and history.
County Line Smokehouse & Spirits opened its doors on Dec. 29, 2017, transforming a longtime Weirsdale establishment into a restaurant and bar with a focus on slow-cooked meats, live entertainment and Southern hospitality.
The business grew out of the former County Line Bar & Package, a fixture in the community for more than 50 years. The property offered much of what its new owners were seeking, a spacious bar, a loyal following, a stage with strong acoustics and an outdoor porch area with room to grow. What it lacked was food.
That piece of the puzzle came into place when the owners discovered an unused brick smokehouse tucked behind a shed on the property. Inspired, they decided to center their new venture around slow-smoked barbecue, with ribs becoming a signature item. The menu now features a variety of smoked meats, along with wings, tacos and catering offered both on and off-site.
In addition to food, County Line Smokehouse & Spirits offers a full bar, live bands, pool tables, outdoor seating and a relaxed atmosphere that draws patrons from across the area…
