Lady DUI suspect caught with open Corona beer after doing burnouts

A Eustis woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI when officers found an open Corona in her vehicle after doing burnouts.

Officers responded to a traffic complaint at 730 Beecher Street around 2:20 a.m. Saturday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. A vehicle, later found to be driven by 35-year-old Larshavia Jaquay Lockhart, was doing burnouts.

Upon arrival, the officers found a black Ford sedan seemingly stuck on a wooden log. The vehicle was turned on, but Lockhart abruptly turned it off once they got there. She then got out of the driver’s seat, unsteady on her feet and swaying as she walked toward a chair, the report said.

She smelled of alcohol as she spoke to the officers. She also had glossy red eyes and showed signs of extremely slurred speech. At that point, one of the officers noticed an open bottle of Corona beer in the middle cup holder of the center console, the report said…
