A homeless man in Leesburg will appear in court for filling a personal cup twice without paying at Wawa.
An officer responded to Wawa, located at 1400 W North Blvd., regarding 38-year-old Kenneth Willis who had just stolen drinks around 9 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, according to a case report from the Leesburg Police Department.
Upon arrival, the officer found Willis in the area of Value Pawn & Jewelry, located at 1378 W North Blvd. He had a metal green tumbler cup on his person that he claimed to have filled with water, which he said was allowed by management. He later admitted to filling the cup with Powerade to “wash his mouth out,” the report said.
The store manager advised that she was alerted by another staff member about Willis, who was known to get violent and steal. She saw him fill his personal cup with Powerade at the Coke Freestyle machine, drink it, refill it with water and drink that, too.
