Unlicensed driver from El Salvador stopped for cracked windshield

An unlicensed driver from El Salvador was arrested after being stopped for a cracked windshield.

An officer observed 34-year-old Elias Carcamo Palacios in a white Ford van traveling on North Main Street near the intersection with Oxford Street around 12:45 p.m. Friday, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.

The vehicle had a crack on the windshield that started in the middle of the driver’s side and went down to the passenger side. Seeing this, the officer stopped the vehicle at the intersection. He then asked Carcamo Palacios for his driver’s license, but he stated he never had one issued, the report said.

Carcamo Palacios instead handed over an El Salvador passport and an insurance card. His information was given to dispatch who confirmed there was no record of him being given a license in Florida, the report said…
