The Villages is not truly a 55+ community

These amenities — the tennis courts, pickleball, bocce ball, and swimming pools — should have full-time staff checking IDs. They are not meant for people who don’t pay the amenity fees. We pay to live here, and we pay to play here. I don’t pay for people driving in from other cities to use our facilities.

If you’re going to operate these amenities, then operate them properly. Market The Villages as a 55+ community? Fine, but that’s not the reality. In some areas, it feels more like a nursery school. I like young people — I used to be young — but I moved here for what The Villages promised. Instead, I feel like I’ve been sold a bill of goods.

So I ask: Who is running The Villages? Who is monitoring these facilities? And most importantly, who is removing the non-residents from our pools and courts?…
