A Lady Lake man arrested this past week with a Bloody Mary in a Polar Pop cup landed in jail again after he was arrested after stopping at a 7-Eleven.
A deputy spotted 49-year-old Billy Rex Whitehead in a blue Dodge Caliber leaving the 7-Eleven at U.S. 301 and SE Hwy. 42 near The Villages at about 2:15 a.m. Thursday, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. The deputy watched as the car used a one-way entrance to exit, passing “Do Not Enter” signs to do so.
During a traffic stop, Whitehead claimed that he did not have a driver’s license. He instead handed over an ID out of Virginia and stated the only reason he did not have the physical card right now was because people kept stealing his mail, the report said.
A records check revealed he did not hold a valid license out of Virginia. He also had three prior charges in the state for driving with a suspended license in September 2017, July 2019 and January 2019, the report said…
