A shoplifting suspect claimed, “I’ve never done anything like this before,” when she was arrested at Walmart at Buffalo Ridge Plaza in The Villages.
Donna Robin Goldstein, 64, who lives in the PepperTree Apartments in Wildwood, was taken into custody Thursday after attempting to leave the store with merchandise for which she had not paid, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. The items for which she had not paid totaled $34.23 and included ice cream, stool softener, razors, cereal and Goldfish snacks. She bagged some of the merchandise without even attempting to scan the items while using a self-checkout lane.
When Goldstein attempted to leave, a Walmart loss prevention officer stopped her.
Goldstein told the loss prevention officer that she had “never done anything like this before,” the report said…
