Husband violates injunction by showing up at local elementary school

A Fruitland Park man was arrested for violating an injunction after going into his child’s school while his ex-wife was there.

An officer responded to Fruitland Park Elementary School, located 901 Olive Ave., for a possible violation of an injunction involving 41-year-old Christopher Thomas Wade at 9:10 a.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Fruitland Park Police Department.

Upon arrival, the officer learned Wade had come to the school to speak with a counselor about his child’s education. He noticed his ex-wife’s vehicle in the parking lot before going in. Despite her being protected by the injunction, he chose to go into the school where she was having a meeting with an academic advisor, the report said.

This put Wade within 25 feet of his ex-wife, who was in the main office, and violated the injunction. The injunction was served on Sept. 3 and would not expire until Aug. 26, 2026, the report said…
