An unwelcome visitor was arrested after he was caught on surveillance at a church in Leesburg.
A deputy responded to Midway Baptist Church, located at 32707 Blossom Lane, Leesburg, regarding a trespass complaint around 10:25 a.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. The complainant advised that 33-year-old Mark Anthony Wieland of Leesburg was seen loitering on surveillance video overnight.
In prior interactions with church members, he stated he did not believe in God, and there was no reason for him to be there. The deputy had also been asked to patrol the area in the past due to various suspicious individuals hanging out in the parking lot. The church had a construction project with materials, the report said.
The deputy arrived at the church to see Wieland talking to an elder. The elder confirmed that he wanted Wieland trespassed from the property. Wieland, who wanted to argue about being trespassed, was told he was not welcome on the property, the report said…
