A Lady Lake man was arrested after a deputy found marijuana in his vehicle during a traffic stop in The Villages.
A deputy saw 22-year-old Tyler Matthew Mcree, who lives in the Parker at East Village apartments near BJ’s Wholesale, in a black Hyundai passenger car headed east toward Buena Vista Boulevard around 9:20 p.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle merged into the left lane without using a signal, leading to a traffic stop near County Road 466 in The Villages.
While speaking with Mcree, the deputy noticed the strong smell of fresh and burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. He denied having anything illegal but claimed to have a medical marijuana card. He also admitted to having marijuana in the vehicle in an improper container, the report said.
However, a check of his status revealed all of his prescriptions had expired. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a Ziplock bag of marijuana in the center console. There were also several medical marijuana containers, including one without a name and two with his name. The latter two expired on Sept. 22, 2024, and Sept. 6, 2024, the report said…
