A Lake Panasoffkee man was arrested after officers were forced to tase him twice to get him to leave his room at Quality Inn.
An officer responded to Quality Inn, located at 1392 W North Blvd., for a disturbance involving 31-year-old Jake Allen Boyce at 11:15 a.m. Friday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.
Upon arrival, the officer met with an employee behind the check-in desk. The employee advised that Boyce, the sole occupant of room 301, had a check-out time of 11 a.m. but refused to leave when asked. The officer was then given the access card to the room and went up to the third floor with a maintenance employee, the report said.
He proceeded to loudly knock on the door while informing Boyce that he was being asked to leave the property. Boyce acknowledged the officer but refused to come to the door. Another officer arrived on scene, after which they used the access card to get inside the room, the report said…
