The Leesburg commission will hold a public hearing Monday night to consider a controversial subdivision which will impact traffic on County Road 48
The plan calls for 910 single-family attached and detached units, consisting of 642 detached units and 268 villa units on a 596-acre parcel with substantial wetlands. The development is called the Oak Ridge LSCP and is located east of County Road 48 and south of the Ronald Reagan Turnpike.
The Leesburg Planning Commission at the public hearing held on July 31 recommended denial with a 5-2 vote, citing concerns of water consumption, nearby wetlands, density, and noted the need for childcare/education caused by the size of the development.
