I just saw a letter to the editor about the question of pedestrian walkways over State Roa 200. I don’t think that it’s feasible.
My problem is that I was one of those people who hit the curb on State Road 200 in front of Texas Roadhouse. It was 6:15 am. Dark. Semi in the middle lane. I hit that curb. Blew out my tire. Mind you, I am 65 years old, going to work. It’s dark. So I opted to creep along the right lane with my flashers on until I felt safe. I drove to work, AdventHealth. I called AAA that afternoon so they could put the donut on. Took it to Sam’s Club. Almost $600 and 3 hours later, I finally made it home.
I feel that I am not responsible for the cost of the tires since the entire fiasco wouldn’t have happened if the curbs were not installed and the road didn’t jog to the left because of those curbs. They are useless…
