A Belleview man and his female companion were arrested on drug charges after being stopped with cocaine and methamphetamine.
An officer observed 48-year-old Joel Pagan and 38-year-old Brandilynn Lavoice Dunston in a black SUV near State Road 25 and Beam Street around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Fruitland Park Police Department. The vehicle had only one working headlight, leading to a traffic stop.
Pagan, the driver, advised that he did not have a driver’s license, only an ID. Dunston and other occupants, a man and a woman, all stated they did not have valid licenses, either, the report said.
A K-9 unit subsequently responded to the scene and alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. The occupants were asked to step out, during which the officers saw Pagan’s left pocket was pulled out as if he had recently taken something out of it. One of the backseat passengers also knocked over a Polar Pop cup with a cut red straw, the report said…
