High-priority health code violations were found recently at two popular breakfast restaurants serving The Villages.
An inspector visited the Denny’s restaurant near UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital on Oct. 20 and found food at unhealthy temperatures, according to an inspection report on file with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
The inspector found foods that were at temperatures above the required 41 degrees, including cooked sausage at 46 degrees, egg whites at 49 degrees, liquid eggs at 48 degrees, shredded cheese at 48 degrees and cooked onions at 50 degrees.
In addition, the inspector found scoopers at the front counter stored in standing water at 113 degrees rather than the required 135 degrees. Finally, the restaurant could not provide proof of employee training for food safety…
