Passenger suffers broken ankle in golf cart rollover in The Villages

A passenger suffered a broken ankle in a golf cart rollover in The Villages.

A man driving a Nissan Pathfinder nosed out onto Morse Boulevard from Carrera Drive near the postal station at about 3 p.m. Thursday prompting a man driving a golf cart southbound in the golf cart lane on Morse Boulevard to swerve to avoid a collision, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

The golf cart driver overcorrected and the golf cart flipped over onto the driver’s side of the vehicle. A female passenger suffered a fractured right ankle. She was transported by ambulance to UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital. The man driving the golf cart was not injured…
