ORLANDO, Fla. — Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings has thrown his hat into the ever-widening pool of candidates seeking to become Florida’s next governor.
Demings, who was elected mayor in 2018, became Orlando’s first African American police chief in 1998, and then Orange County’s first African American sheriff in 2008.
