A resident of Oxford Oaks who lost his license after a drunk driving conviction was arrested after driving his golf cart to ALDI.
Brian Joseph Spencer, 56, who lives in the family development off U.S. 301, was spotted driving a gold 2008 Yamaha golf cart on the sidewalk at about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday as he was heading home from the grocery store, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
Spencer attempted to deny that he had been driving the golf cart on the sidewalk, even though the deputy had seen him doing so.
Spencer presented the deputy with a Florida identification card and admitted he lost his license as a result of a conviction for driving under the influence. The deputy confirmed that the Wisconsin native’s license had been suspended as of March 11…
