The Leesburg and surrounding community is mourning the sudden passing of Scott Christley, longtime owner of SkateWorld in Leesburg and a familiar face to generations of local families.
News of his death was shared by his family this morning in a social-media post that described him as a devoted husband, father and leader whose kindness and strength touched countless lives.
“He was the perfect example of a leader—strong, kind, and steady—and his spirit will forever be with me,” his daughter wrote. “The love my dad showed my momma gave me a true vision of what ‘til death do us part’ really means.”
SkateWorld in Leesburg has been a community staple for decades. They announced it will be closed Thursday as family and staff take time to grieve and honor Scott’s memory.
Under his ownership, SkateWorld became more than just a rink. It was a gathering place for families, youth groups and birthday celebrations, hosting everything from school nights to charity events.
