A Wildwood man was arrested for trafficking narcotics after the discovery of a Crown Royal bag with fentanyl during a traffic stop.
An officer spotted 43-year-old Lamar James Warthen speeding southbound on Cutoff Road at 8 p.m. Saturday, according to an arrest report from the Fruitland Park Police Department. Radar confirmed his gray 2014 Chrysler 300 was going 46 miles per hour in a 30-mph zone.
As such, the officer drove behind the vehicle after it made a left and drove past the driveway on 1207 Pine Ridge Dairy Road. Warthan proceeded to get out and started to walk away. The officer commanded him to get back into the vehicle, but he kept walking, the report said.
The officer drew his taser, warning Warthen that he would use it if his commands went unanswered. Only then did Warthan walk around to the driver’s side of his vehicle where he was ordered to the ground and handcuffed for resisting, the report said…
