Habitual traffic offender caught driving with suspended license

An Ocklawaha man with a history of habitual traffic offenses was arrested for driving with a suspended license.

A deputy stopped 54-year-old Christopher Michael Jones in a blue sedan with no headlights at 7049 SE 92nd Loop, Belleview, around 2:15 a.m. Thursday, according to an arrest report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

When asked about his driver’s license, Jones stated it had been suspended. A subsequent check of his driving history revealed multiples suspensions dating from June 2019 through Jan. 2025 for unpaid financial obligations, unpaid fines and failures to appear in court. He had also been labeled a habitual traffic offender in Jan. 2025, the report said…
