Uninsured Oxford Oaks driver nabbed with fake license plate on car

An uninsured Oxford Oaks driver was nabbed with a fake license plate on her car.

Jennifer Jay Teague, 56, who lives in the family development off U.S. 301, was driving a black Kia shortly before 8 a.m. Saturday in the area of Morse Boulevard and Odell Circle in The Villages when a deputy noticed the vehicle’s license plate had a tinted plastic cover which made it unreadable, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

During a traffic stop, Teague admitted her license had been suspended for allowing her automobile insurance to lapse. She also admitted she had been pulled over three weeks earlier. The deputy found that Teague also had unpaid traffic fines and the Massachusetts native had been provided with a notice of her suspension on May 30. The deputy also learned that a seize tag order had been issued for the vehicle’s license plate.

When the deputy went to remove the license plate, he found that it was “fake and made of laminated paper.”…
