A pair of Lake County women will appear in court next week for skip-scanning $187 worth of items at Walmart.
An officer responded to Walmart, located at 2501 Citrus Blvd., for a theft involving 22-year-old Tasia O’Neal of Leesburg and 21-year-old Sanaa Brown of Lady Lake at 5:55 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, according to a case report from the Leesburg Police Department. The pair had such a large amount of merchandise in their cart that loss prevention was still sorting through it when the officer got to the store.
Both initially denied any knowledge of “skip-scanning” anything, saying any items that had not been scanned were overlooked due to being distracted by O’Neal’s toddler who was actively distraught and crying.
