Someone in the Village Center Community Development District is not doing their job. Throughout The Villages, Jacobs is constantly opening up the roads to make repairs to poorly constructed water lines. It takes weeks for the pavement to get repaired. The contractor who is making the pavement repairs isn’t properly compacting the subgrade and base courses under the asphalt. Virtually every patched pavement area settles at least 1 inch in the middle of the asphalt patch within 6 to 12 months. This creates a nuisance for motorists and a safety hazardfor bicyclist. The VCCDD staff should ensure their pavement contractor provides a quality product that meets industry standards and does not waste residents’ hard-earned money.
