A hit-and-run driver was arrested after fleeing the scene of a crash in The Villages.
A motorist had been traveling at about 2 p.m. Sunday on Buena Vista Boulevard at County Road 466A when she was rear-ended by another automobile, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. Both drivers initially indicated they would be pulling over, but the driver of the vehicle which caused the rear-end collision, a blue 2005 Florida F-150 pickup, fled the scene. The driver whose vehicle had been struck managed to take a photo of the F-150 as it drove away, capturing an image of the license plate.
The F-150 was spotted and pulled over on County Road 108 at U.S. 301. The driver was identified as 36-year-old Stephanie Nicole Del Castillo of Ocala. A check of her driver’s license revealed it had been suspended in 2023 for failure to pay traffic fines…
