A Belleview man was arrested after allegedly battering his ex-wife, damaging her home and breaking her phone over his knee.
A deputy responded to a domestic disturbance involving 58-year-old Lance William Horton and his ex-wife at her residence in Lady Lake around 7:40 p.m. Friday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
The ex-wife explained that she previously lived with Horton, but this was not the case anymore. He occasionally stayed over and was supposed to leave her place by 7 p.m. that day. He instead had been drinking and sending her harassing text messages, and when she got home, he was still there, the report said.
He became angry, yelling profanities at her and damaging her residence. He broke a ceramic bowl, threw items off the bathroom counter and damaged her phone, which she valued between $1,200 and $1,500. She also mentioned he had broken other phones and property during past incidents, the report said…
