An undercover investigation has led to the arrest of a suspect selling potent pot in a vape shop near Wildwood City Hall.
Officers began an investigation into 27-year-old Hasan Abu Hasna of the Wildwood Smoke Shop, located at 104 S Main St., on Sept. 17, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. Intelligence indicated he was selling illegal narcotics from the business, prompting an undercover operation.
So that evening, an officer walked into the vape store and asked Abu Hasna to buy sativa, a cannabis plant grown for its high THC content. Abu Hasna, who identified himself as “Jay,” advised that he sold sativa in increments starting at $9.99 and increasing to $14.99 and $19.99. The officer handed over $20 for the $14.99 size, and Abu Hasna went into the back room of the business to return with a brown paper bag containing 1.15 grams of sativa, the report said.
The undercover officer went back on Oct. 10, greeting Abu Hasna and asking a female employee for more sativa. She gave him a sealed cellophane package labeled “Don Merfos Exotics Super Lemon Cherry,” which she stated was “21 dollars and change.” When asked about the price increase, Abu Hasna stated it was because they were “now doing packaging,” the report said.
The officer learned they sold “packaged sativa in eighths,” but Abu Hasna agreed to sell him the larger amount with the $20 he had. This package later came out to 0.97 grams, the report said…
