Bad Parking leads to arrest of woman at local convenience store

A case of Bad Parking led to the arrest of a woman at a local convenience store.

Officers observed a blue Chevy Silverado parked crooked and still running at RaceTrac, located at 324 U.S. Hwy. 27/441, around 11:55 p.m. Wednesday, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. The driver, 50-year-old Heather Watts Stewart of Summerfield, had her head down on the steering wheel.

After approaching the vehicle, the officers asked Stewart if she had any narcotics, which she denied. But an officer noticed a cut pen top and a small round white powdery rock sitting between her legs on the driver’s seat. She tried to reach down toward the suspected cocaine only to be stopped and put into custody, the report said.

The cut pen top had burnt Brillo inside along with 1 gram of cocaine. While in custody for this, Stewart asked if she was going to jail. An officer told her that she would if the substance tested positive for narcotics, and she confirmed it was. After being read her rights, she refused to speak with law enforcement any more, the report said…
