Shoplifter with merchandise shoved into underwear busted with drugs at Walmart

A Leesburg man who shoved a sprayer into his underwear was also charged for meth found in his backpack at Walmart.

Officers responded to Walmart, located at 2501 Citrus Blvd., regarding 23-year-old Matthew Lee Wiemer concealing merchandise around 6:35 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.

Loss prevention advised that he was currently in the sporting goods section taking a pair of binoculars. Once they found him on camera, they watched as he looked over his shoulder to the left and right. He then grabbed something, shoved it into the front of his pants and quickly walked toward the front of the store where he had put his gray bicycle, the report said.

An officer parked directly outside the store followed Wiemer as he went past the vending machines, ultimately detaining him. He started to make sudden movements and tightened his arms until being told to stop resisting. He then followed all commands, the report said…
