Two Leesburg women nabbed with crack cocaine after rolling through stop sign

A pair of Leesburg women was arrested on drug charges following the discovery of crack cocaine at a traffic stop.

Officers pulled over 35-year-old Amanda Michelle Lowery and 57-year-old Rosa Lee Taylor at 2300 Waitman Avenue for passing a stop bar around 1:10 p.m. Tuesday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.

During the stop, an officer noticed Lowery threw something out of the front passenger-side window. He later learned it was a clear glass pipe with burnt residue. He also discovered 0.5 grams of crack cocaine on the floorboard below where she had been sitting, the report said.

The discovery of the pipe prompted officers to remove the occupants from the vehicle and check Taylor’s driving history. This revealed she had multiple suspensions and was identified as a habitual traffic offender. Additionally, she had a prior DUI from Jan. 1, 2000, the report said…
