Local leaders will consider a measure to create a new veterans’ hall of fame that would honor military veterans not solely for their military service, but for their leadership, community involvement, and civic contributions specifically within Marion County.
The proposal, which is in partnership with Veterans Helping Veterans USA, Inc., will be presented to the Marion County Board of County Commissioners during its regular meeting on Tuesday, December 16.
According to county documents, the local Hall of Fame is intended to bridge communication gaps among local veterans organizations and collaborate on items that benefit the local veteran population.
