Central Florida residents woke up to a noticeably cooler Monday morning as a cold front swept through the region, bringing some of the chilliest temperatures the area has seen in recent weeks. The dramatic temperature drop has Orlando reaching only the mid-60s this afternoon, nearly 10 degrees below the seasonal average.
Windy and cold conditions kick off the week
Monday morning started with temperatures dipping into the 40s and 50s across Central Florida, accompanied by gusty winds that made it feel even colder. Coastal areas faced particularly breezy conditions, with a Wind Advisory remaining in effect until 9 a.m. for wind gusts reaching up to 35 mph or higher.
The combination of cooler air and strong winds created a noticeable chill factor for anyone heading out early. FOX Storm Team meteorologist Brooks Garner noted that Orlando’s high temperature will only reach about 65 degrees today, falling well short of the typical mid-70s expected for mid-December in Central Florida.
Throughout the day, residents can expect a mix of sunshine and clouds with partly clear skies. Despite the sun making appearances, the cooler air mass will keep temperatures suppressed compared to what Central Floridians have enjoyed in recent days.
Another chilly night ahead before gradual warmup
