Wildwood Man Taken Into Custody After Allegedly Snatching Cows From Fields In Oxford

A Wildwood man was taken into custody for the theft of three cows when one of the owners recognized his truck parked at a residence.

A deputy met with a victim of cattle theft on County Road 231 in Oxford about 5:35 p.m. Monday, according to a Sumter County Sheriff’s Office arrest report. He thought he’d spotted the person, eventually identified as 20-year-old Landon Dean Hogan, who had stolen one of his cows and two of his neighbors’ cows.

He said Hogan, who was outside, may have stolen a cow from his property and then from his neighbor. The report said he recognized the Dodge pickup parked in front of the house on County Road 231 as the one that had been on his property…
