Leesburg woman allegedly points gun at husband in fight over television

A Leesburg woman was arrested after allegedly pointing a handgun at her soon-to-be ex-husband during an altercation over a television.

Officers responded to a battery involving 31-year-old Rhonye Thevon Burris and her husband at an undisclosed Leesburg residence around 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department.

After being separated for interviews, the husband advised that he was in the garage when Burris parked in the driveway, got out and aggressively approached him. She was upset that he left the garage door open, so she picked up his television and threw it at him. She then began to punch and kick him, the report said.

Burris subsequently got back into her vehicle, which was initially parked with the trunk facing the garage. She proceeded to pull out of the driveway to turn around with the front of her vehicle now facing the garage. At that point, the husband saw her point a small black handgun at him with her hands outside the driver’s side window, causing him to fear for his life, the report said…
