As the Christmas and New Year’s holidays approach, residents in Marion County, Ocala, and Belleview should prepare for modified operating hours at government offices, adjusted trash pickup schedules, and facility closures.
Most Marion County administrative offices will close at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 24, and remain closed through Friday, Dec. 26. These offices will close again on Thursday, Jan. 1. Public libraries will operate under special holiday hours. The Sankofa Public Library will be closed all day on Dec. 24, while all other locations will close at noon. All libraries will remain closed from Dec. 25 through Dec. 27 and on Jan. 1. On New Year’s Eve, libraries will close early at 5 p.m.
Solid waste facilities will also see schedule changes. On Dec. 24 and Dec. 31, all locations including the Baseline Landfill will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., but will close entirely on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day…
