DAVENPORT, Fla. – A manhunt is underway in Central Florida for a 25-year-old man accused of turning a holiday getaway into a nightmare for multiple tourists. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) says Shamar Lee Buggs committed a spree of break-ins at occupied vacation homes, only to be identified after pawning a stolen gaming console.
According to investigators, Buggs, a resident of Eustis, targeted the Solterra community in Davenport during the first week of December. Detectives say he slipped into seven different short-term rental properties while guests were staying there.
His primary targets were purses and bags containing high-value items and sensitive documents. Deputies report that Buggs made off with wallets, cash, credit cards, driver’s licenses, passports, and various electronics…
